Simba SC assistant coach Suleiman Matola has revealed their desire to score more than one goal when they come up against JKT Tanzania in a Mainland Premier League fixture at Mej Jenerali Isamuhyo Stadium on Saturday.
The Msimbazi Reds will return to action after the top-flight took a break for Tanzania national elections. Speaking ahead of the fixture, Matola, who was addressing the media on behalf of coach Dimitar Pantev said they have prepared enough to face their opponents.
Matola further said their focus was to go for three points but stressed the importance of getting more goals in the contest.
“We have prepared well, we have set our target of going for three points, but we also want to do it with more than one goal,” said Matola.
“We know that JKT is a strong team, we know they have a very good coach and very quality players, we don’t want to underestimate them, and they can pull a surprise so we must be prepared.
“We have seen them beat top teams before, so we must be very careful with how we play, we should avoid giving the ball away, and play as a team, and we should cover for each other.”
Speaking on behalf of the players, Wilson Nangu said: “We know what to expect from JKT, they are a stubborn side, and for us to beat them we must produce our best game.”
Simba will be fighting for their third win in the league, having played two matches so far and won two. They are sitting seventh in the league table with six points.
