Hearts of Oak’s unbeaten streak in the Ghana Premier League will be tested when they host arch rivals, Asante Kotoko in week 9 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The record Ghana FA Cup holders are yet to lose in eight matches with Kotoko equally unbeaten in five outings and three outstanding games to clear as they both head into the nation’s biggest derby.
Hearts of Oak picked three points at Holy Stars in week eight following a 2-1 win with Asante Kotoko brushing aside Karela United by 4-2 at the Baba Yara Stadium. Both sides walk into the game chasing pride and result and head coach of Hearts of Oak, Mas Ud Didi Dramani is sure of posting a win on Sunday.
“Our celebrations are always short-lived. We jump into preparations right after the game against Holy Stars. On Monday, we did recovery, and immediately we started preparations. We want to improve areas where we are very good and areas where we are not good.
“We will do everything humanly possible to get the best out of the game [against Asante Kotoko]. We believe that our identity is the best identity,” Didi Dramani told Hearts TV.
Hearts of Oak have recorded three wins, four draws and suffered five losses in their last twelve home matches against Asante Kotoko and they will look to halt the Porcupine Warriors dominance.
Hearts of Oak, who won the 2000 CAF Champions League, have collected 16 points, sitting in fourth with Asante lying ninth on the log on 11 points from five matches.
