Al Ahly coach Jess Thorup made statements after the team’s triumph in the Egyptian Super Cup after defeating Zamalek 2-0.

Thorup achieved his first title as Al Ahly coach in the Egyptian Super Cup final, which was held at the “Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium” in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi.

Al Ahly coach said in statements to Al Ahly TV channel:
“Congratulations to Al Ahly’s great fans. This championship (the Egyptian Super Cup) will not be the last, and beating Zamalek is something great for us.”

The Danish coach added:
“I hope we can continue what we have achieved in the last four weeks and keep up the work we are doing. I told the players that we will start writing history from today.”

Al Ahly is set to receive a financial reward estimated at 300,000 USD after winning the Egyptian Super Cup as part of the title prize.

The victory also strengthened Al Ahly’s record in the Egyptian Super Cup, as the team reached 16 titles, winning the trophy in the last four editions, while Zamalek remained at 4 titles.
