Saint George ended their eight-game winless run on Saturday as they beat relegation battlers Wolwalo Adigrat University in Week 26 from the Ethiopian Premier League.

The record Ethiopian champions overcame Wolwalo 3-1. Goals in each half handed Saint George a vital win after a dreadful few weeks in the top flight. Biniyam Fikre put the Addis Ababa ahead in the opening minute.

Former Saint George striker Bulcha Shura restored parity for the Northern Ethiopian side but goals from Ghanaian Samiu Abdu and Fikru’s second gave the Horsemen all three points. Fikru bagged a brace to end his goal drought.

Elsewhere, Hadiya Hossana registered a 3-1 win over Wolayta Dicha. Goals from Biruk Beyene, Beyene Banja, and Desta Wamisho gave Hadiya a vital win. The Bees of Tona scored their only goal through Zelalem Abate.

Hadiya Hossana are now fourth with 37 points. Wolayta Dicha slipped into fifth after another defeat.
