The Egyptian national team has announced the preliminary medical assessments for three players who sustained injuries during the Pharaohs’ 2–0 defeat to Uzbekistan in the semi-finals of the Al Ain International Tournament.

Egypt fell to a two-goal loss in the friendly clash, which forms part of the team’s preparations for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.

Team doctor Mohamed Abou El-Ela revealed the initial diagnoses for Hamdy Fathy, Ahmed Sayed “Zizo”, and Salah Mohsen following the encounter. Abou El-Ela stated that Hamdy Fathy suffered an injury to the leg muscles, while Zizo is dealing with an issue affecting the tendons surrounding the knee area. He also confirmed that Salah Mohsen sustained a hamstring injury.

These developments come as Egypt prepare to face Cape Verde in the third-place playoff of the Al Ain International Tournament.

The Pharaohs will meet Cape Verde on November 17 at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 16:00 GMT.
