Zito recounts injury woes for record holders

Karim Zito has been left reeling on the injury situations that has plagued the club: “What I’m going through in this club is not easy. If you don’t have mental toughness, you can’t. Every day of the week, some players will get injured.

“So we are working on it seriously. We are all worried about the situation I find myself in but this is my destiny and I have to work seriously against it. I had to force Dauda Saaka to play. I have to use what I have to get what I want, though we couldn’t achieve the target.

Asante Kotoko will host Young Apostles in their week six outstanding fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium on Wednesday and Karim Zito is demanding an improved performance from his charges.

“The attitude should be even bigger than the one we went in to play against Aduana. We have seen our mistakes, we have corrected them and then we also talk about the mentality.

“Why should you wait for somebody to beat you before you wake up to play. And that all amounted to the draw but at the end of the day it is better than losing so for the match against Young Apostles we don’t have any excuse. Definitely if we mean to win the league this are some matches all home matches should be win no matter how,” he told AKSC TV.

Asante Kotoko currently sit in sixth on the league table with 16 points from eight matches with two outstanding matches to clear. A win will take them into 4th on 19 points.
