Head coach of Asante Kotoko, Karim Zito has been left fuming over their defeat to Basake Holy Stars in their Week 3 outstanding Ghana Premier League fixture on Wednesday.
The record Ghana Premier League holders walked into the delayed fixture as the only club yet to taste a defeat in the current campaign but that record was shattered by the strugglers.
Karim Zito reacted to the defeat, citing lack of players scoring ability in front of goal.
“Kotoko should have won this game. Seriously, we should have won this game. Once again, we squandered the chances, and they took their chances, so to me we shouldn’t have lost this game, but it’s part of the game, so it’s okay,” Karim Zito said after the match.
“Everybody wants to beat Kotoko. We didn’t play badly. We played good football, but putting the ball in the back of the net was once again the problem.
“This is football, we are playing at home on Sunday, the team that leads the table leads us by three points. So we are still chasing.”
Notwithstanding the defeat, Asante Kotoko remain in fourth with 20 points from 11 matches into the campaign. They will now turn attention to their next fixture at home to Medeama SC on Sunday, November 30.
