Pyramids FC have given the green light for striker Marwan Hamdy to join Egypt’s second national team as preparations continue ahead of the 2025 Arab Cup.
Qatar is set to host the second edition of the FIFA Arab Cup for national teams from December 1 to 18, with Egypt confirmed among the participating nations.
Despite a busy domestic schedule — including their postponed league fixtures against Ismailia Electricity and Petrojet on December 3 and 6 — Pyramids FC management opted to support the national team by releasing Hamdy.
The decision comes following the request of the Egyptian Football Association after the head coach Helmy Toulan expressed desire in adding the striker to his squad. An agreement was finalized between Pyramids FC officials and Ahmed Hassan, the team manager of Egypt’s Arab Cup squad in Qatar.
Egypt will compete in Group C of the 2025 Arab Cup alongside Jordan, the UAE, and Kuwait.
