Stade Malien head coach Mauril Mesack Njoya has said his team has prepared enough to fight to take three points against Simba SC in their Group D CAF Champions League fixture at the 26th of March Stadium on Sunday.
While the Msimbazi Reds of Tanzania lost their Group D opener 1-0 against Petro de Luanda on home soil, Stade Malien secured a vital 0-0 draw against Espérance Sportive de Tunis away.
“We know what is at stake, my players know what they need to do, it is our first home game which we must win,” Njoya told Pan-Africa Football. “We have prepared for this match since we returned from Tunis, and it is time to go and get those three points.
“We must win the game because we will be playing at home. We will do everything to win the game, we want to win all our home matches starting with the Simba SC fixture.”
Ahead of the game, Simba assistant coach Seleman Matola said: “We know it will not be an easy task, we must be ready, we must go into the game with confidence, and we need to take our chances.
“We want to approach this game very differently, it is a different approach, it will not be the same like we did in the opener, and we will deploy a different approach, to win the game.”
