AS Maniema Union’s coach Papy Kimoto Okitankoyi has explained what he expects from Nairobi United in Sunday’s CAF Confederation Cup group-stage match.
The Congolese coach told his club’s media that he expects a tough encounter against the Kenyan cup kings at Kasarani Stadium in the capital city.
“We know it won’t be easy, but we’re here to get a good result,” Okitankoyi told his club’s media.
The Linafoot Ligue 1 team started its journey in the continental cup with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Azam FC in Kinshasa last week and want to build on that result.
On the other hand, Nairobi United launched their CAF Confederation Cup journey with a 3-0 loss to Wydad Casablanca last week.
The Moroccans have since gone on to lead the table after beating Azam FC 1-0 to hand the Tanzanians their back-to-back defeat.
AS Maniema Union’s third assignment after the game in Kenya will be against Azam FC on the weekend of January 25 2026.
