Reigning champions GoldStars will face one of the stiffest tests when they host league leaders Aduana FC in the week 12 Ghana Premier League fixture at the Duns Park on Sunday.
GoldStars have posted unimpressive performances in their three games – losing twice away to Basake Holy Stars and Nations with a 1-0 home victory at home to Karela United.
The Miners need a win at all costs to keep up the chase on Kotoko, Medeama, Heart of Lions and leaders Aduana and attacker of the club, Samuel Attah Kumi has expressed confidence in the Miners preparedness for the clash.
“We are well prepared for this game and our mentality is to go into every game with a winning mentality and we have no strategy and it’s our hope that this game goes well for us,” Samuel Atta Kumi told GoldStars TV.
“It’s too early into the season but we are taking each game as it comes and we hope to climb above our current position. We are the defending champions and we must retain that title and it’s our aim to win every game or at least pick a point from away games.
Samuel Atta Kumi has indicated that, there are no minnows in the current Ghana Premier League campaign and any club underestimates his opponent at his own peril.
“All the teams are doing well, every team is putting in the best and the points difference among the clubs are not that huge and so no club is smaller this season and it has been very competitive and you underestimate any club at your own peril.
“We hope to improve on each game so that we can reach the level we desire. We will be happy to be in the top three or top four at the end of the first half of the season.
Samuel Attah Kumi’s six goals in 11 appearances this campaign has led Gold Stars into the fifth spot on the league table with 19 points from 11 matches.
