Sean Dyche provides injury update on Taiwo Awoniyi and Ola Aina

Coach of English Premier League club, Nottingham Forest, Sean Dyche has provided an injury update on Nigeria duo Taiwo Awoniyi and Ola Aina ahead of his side’s clash with Everton on Saturday.

Awoniyi has missed Forest’s last three games due to a muscle injury, while his compatriot Aina is working his way back to full fitness after recovering from a hamstring injury that sidelined him for around two months.

Dyche, speaking ahead of Saturday’s match, told reporters that Awoniyi is back on grass training while Aina still needs more time.

“Taiwo is on the grass and doing well, Douglas Luiz is close to getting back to training with us, Angus Gunn a bit delayed on that but getting better,”

Ola Aina still a bit of time yet but getting better.”

While Awoniyi is nearing a return to action, Aina is expected to wait until the New Year before playing again.

Both Forest players were named in coach Eric Chelle’s 54-man provisional list ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
