Misagga orders Mandela to halt SC Villa duties as leadership term sparks legal storm

Former SC Villa President Ben Misagga has escalated tensions within the Jogoos’ leadership structure, issuing a firm directive to current club President Hajji Omar Ahmed Mandela to immediately stop executing any official duties.

In a formal notice delivered through his lawyers, Kasiko Advocates, Misagga challenges the legitimacy of Mandela’s continued stay in office, pointing to what he terms a blatant violation of both SC Villa statutes and FUFA regulations.

According to the letter, Mandela’s presidential mandate legally expired on November 13, 2025 exactly four years after he took oath on November 13, 2021.

Misagga stresses that no official communication, extension or legally binding instrument has been issued to prolong Mandela’s term, yet the incumbent continues to act in a presidential capacity.

The former president warns that such actions undermine the legal framework governing the club and could potentially damage SC Villa’s reputation.

The lawyers have demanded that Mandela immediately ceases performing all official duties, stops representing the club in any form and initiates a formal handover process. This includes surrendering,

All official records
Financial statements and contracts
Club equipment and identification documents
Any other assets belonging to SC Villa

Furthermore, Mandela is required to provide a comprehensive inventory and accountability report covering his period in office. He must also present documentation confirming the termination of his role as a member of the club’s Board of Trustees if such documentation exists.

The developments add a new layer of uncertainty to SC Villa’s governance with the club now awaiting the next steps following Misagga’s bold stance.
