Mohamed El-Sayed “Shika” led Ismailia Electricity to a sensational comeback, scoring a hat-trick to secure a 3-3 draw against Zamalek in the opening round of the Egypt Capital Cup (League Cup).
The match, played at Al-Mokawloon Al-Arab Stadium, was part of Group C, which includes Zamalek, Ismailia Electricity, Al-Masry, Al-Ittihad Alexandria, Haras El Hodoud, ZED, and Smouha.
Zamalek took the lead in the 21st minute through a header by Amr Nasser from a cross by Juan Bezerra. They doubled their advantage at the start of the second half when Ismailia Electricity goalkeeper Farag Shawky inadvertently turned a ball from the bar into his own net in the 46th minute. Adam Kayid added a third for Zamalek with a low shot from inside the box in the 49th minute.
The Capital Cup match seemed firmly in Zamalek’s control until substitute Mohamed El-Sayed “Shika” sparked a remarkable comeback for Ismailia Electricity. He scored his first goal with a header in the 54th minute, followed by another header from a corner in the 72nd minute. Shika completed his hat-trick and leveled the score in the 78th minute with a low shot from a right-wing cross.
The remaining minutes saw no further goals, and the game ended in a thrilling 3-3 draw.
