Al Ahli Tripoli secured the Libyan Super Cup title after defeating Al-Ahly Benghazi 4-3 on penalties, following a goalless draw at Cairo Stadium in Egypt.
With this victory, the capital club completes a historic domestic treble, having already won the Libyan Premier League and Libyan Cup.
In the penalty shootout, Al-Ahli Tripoli’s goalkeeper Abdul Hakim Al-Turki saw goals converted by Yahya Gibran, Jumaa Bouriqa, and Zakaria Al-Mansouri, while Abdullah Daqo and Gabriel Orouk missed their attempts.
Al-Ahly Benghazi’s goalkeeper Murad Al-Wahishi saw goals scored by Mabululu, Mohamed Al-Munir, Abdullah Al-Arfi, and Ghailan Al-Shaalali. Ismail Al-Tajouri missed his spot-kick for Al Ahli Tripoli.
This win comes days after Al Ahli Tripoli defeated Al-Ahly Benghazi 3-0 in the Libyan Cup final, reaffirming their dominance and giving Egyptian coach Hossam El-Badry a clean sweep of domestic titles with the league, cup, and super cup.
