Head coach of Asante Kotoko Abdul Karim Zito has admitted that the club finds itself in an awkward situation which the technical team must quickly remedy.
The Porcupine Warriors have gone four straight matches without a win in the Ghana Premier League but they have a chance to recover from the setback in the FA Cup.
The reigning FA Cup champions will begin their title defence at lower tier side, Future Stars FC in the round of 64 on Wednesday and Karim Zito took time to share some words ahead of the game.
“I think we are in a difficult moment, the players, the technical team, the Interim Management Committee [IMC] because of our unimpressive results but we have three key factors in football which are win, passion, patience and persistence,” Karim Zito told Kotoko TV.
“We have to persist and continue fighting for the objective we have set for ourselves so with the FA Cup we only have one chance to play for the next chance unlike the league which is a marathon.
“With the FA Cup, this is a bigger opportunity to make amendments for us to prove that we have just got into a difficult moment and not that we are a bad side but we can improve upon it and make amendments.”
Asante Kotoko currently sit in 5th on the Ghana Premier League table with 21 points same as rivals Hearts of Oak and Samartex after 13 matches played in the current campaign.
