Heart of Lions head coach, Bashir Hayford could not hide his frustrations following their home loss to Aduana FC in match day 14 of the Ghana Premier League on Friday.
Patrick Mensah’s second half strike gave Aduana FC the slim win at the Kpando Stadium, pushing them into top spot on 27 points from 14 matches into the current campaign.
The defeat marked Heart of Lions’ fourth straight game without a win, a feat that has left Bashir Hayford disappointed.
“Sometimes that is how football is, when your attackers fail to put the ball in the net and your opponent puts one there [then] you are in trouble,” Bashir Hayford said.
“We did everything and I will give credit to the defenders of Aduana FC, in fact they defended so well and I’m not surprised they are where they are now so congratulations to them and I think we will fight next time.”
Heart of Lions had posted some incredible performances under Bashir Hayford but dropped their guard in the last four weeks, picking just two points in four matches. They managed to draw 2-2 at Vision FC and a goalless draw at home to Karela United.
Their last two losses came against Nations FC and Aduana which now keeps them still in third position on 23 points from 14 matches.
The Ghana Premier League matchday 14 fixture between Bibiani Gold Stars and Medeama has been postponed following Medeama’s release of five players to the domestic-based Ghana national team for their international friendly against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana on December 16.
