Horrific injury for Ahmed Kendouci: Algerian breaks leg in Nile Egyptian League match

Algerian international midfielder Ahmed Kendouci suffered a horrific leg fracture during Ceramica Cleopatra’s match against Pharco in the second round of the Nile Egyptian League title phase.

WARNING: The video below may be upsetting to watch.

The injury occurred in the 87th minute of the match, with Ceramica Cleopatra leading 1-0.

In a challenge for the ball between Pharco’s Yassin El Mallah and Kendouci, El Mallah attempted to play the ball but forcefully collided with Kendouci’s leg, resulting in a fracture in the shin area.

The footage showed the horrific fracture, prompting the referee to issue a straight red card to Yassin El Mallah. Medical scans later confirmed that Kendouci had suffered a leg fracture.

Following the game, Pharco’s coaching staff and players headed to the hospital to visit Kendouci. Yassin El Mallah personally apologized to the Algerian player and assured him that he had no intention of causing harm.

Ahmed Kendouci is one of the players who were included in the Algeria national team squad by coach Vladimir Petkovic during several previous training camps, the last of which was last March.

The match ended with a 2-0 victory for Ceramica Cleopatra, bringing their tally to 27 points and putting them into the sixth place in the title phase standings, while Pharco remained on 26 points going down to the seventh place.
