Samuel Chukwueze claims lack of opportunity at AC Milan stunted his potential

Nigerian senior men’s national team winger Samuel Chukwueze believes he was not given enough time to show his full potential on the pitch at Italian Serie A side AC Milan.

Chukwueze, who joined Milan from Spanish club Villarreal three years ago, failed to make a significant impact at the San Siro before joining Premier League club Fulham on a season-long loan last summer.

The 26-year-old, quoted by Milanista, believes that his time in Italy was hampered by limited opportunities and stated that English football may suit him better.

“I don’t think I was given the time or the opportunities I needed.

But that’s football. I just have to keep working. Maybe one day I’ll return to Serie A, or La Liga, or stay in the Premier League. English football probably suits my style better than Italian tactics.”

He also added that his ties to the Rossoneri have not been severed; despite being on loan with Fulham, he remains a Milan player.

“I miss Milan.

It’s my second home. My family are still there, so of course I miss the city. They are doing well and I wish them all the best, I’m still a Milan player, after all, because I’m only on loan.”

Chukwueze has made a significant impression since arriving at Fulham, scoring twice and providing four assists in nine league appearances.
