The former champions started the game on a bright note, scoring as early as the 20th minute through the effort of Kingsley Braye.
The Mauve and Yellow had fought from a goal down to draw 1-1 at home to Basake Holy Stars in week 15, making the trip to Kpando a herculean one.
The two-time FA Cup winners however defied the odds to silence Heart of Lions who have now gone six games without a win under the guidance coach Bashir Hayford.
The victory meant that Medeama are yet to taste a defeat in their last twelve games, collecting eight wins, six draws and one loss in total.
They now lead the table with 30 points, two better than second placed Aduana who will play week 16 at Young Apostles on Sunday. Medeama have one outstanding game against reigning champions GoldStars.
Hearts of Oak share 28 points with Aduana but the Phobians have played a game better than the “Fire Boys” as the year closes with tight fixtures.
