Leicester City coach Marti Cifuentes has reacted to Zambian Patson Daka and Stephy Mavididi’s goals that sent the Foxes to the FA Cup’s next round on Saturday.
The duo helped the former Premier League champions to overcome Sky Bet League 2 outfit Cheltenham Town 2-0 and advance to the Emirates FA Cup Fourth-Round.
In reaction, as quoted by North Wales Pioneer, the Leicester City boss highlighted the importance of the result.
“I’m pleased with the guys, especially with the changes,” he said.
“The FA Cup is a beautiful competition and we want to go as far as possible but it was also important to build confidence ahead of our game against Coventry.”
Daka put Leicester in front with a curling effort in the 23rd-minute at The EV Charger Points Stadium, before Mavididi cushioned the lead.
The Foxes have now won rare back-to-back games following an earlier success over West Bromwich Albion in the Sky Bet Championship on Monday.
Leicester City now await a fourth-round draw for the FA Cup before heading to Coventry City in the league on Saturday.
