The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has decided to suspend Samuel Eto’o, President of the Cameroonian Football Federation, for four matches and impose a fine of USD 20,000, following a decision issued by the CAF Disciplinary Committee.
The Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) has issued an official statement regarding the suspension of its president, Samuel Eto’o.
FECAFOOT confirmed that it has taken note of the decision issued by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) concerning its president, related to alleged violations that occurred during the Morocco vs Cameroon match.
The Cameroonian FA expressed its objection to the ruling, stressing that the decision did not include clear reasons or justifications for the sanctions imposed.
The federation also pointed out that the procedures followed to reach this decision raise concerns about how far the principles of a fair trial were respected.
In its statement, FECAFOOT confirmed that its president has decided to exercise his right to appeal, in accordance with the legal deadlines and conditions.
The federation concluded by reiterating its full support for Samuel Eto’o and affirmed its commitment to the principles of justice and fair sporting discipline.
