Laurindo Depu: Young Africans unveil Angola striker

Young Africans of Tanzania have announced the signing of Angolan striker Laurindo Depu as their new player starting in the current transfer window which will close at the end of January.

The star joins the Yanga squad to replace Andy Boyeli who has had his loan deal terminated and has now returned to his local club Sekhukhune United in South Africa.

By joining Yanga, Depu reunited with coach Pedro Gonçalves, who had managed him in the Angola national team. In 2024, Depú signed a one-year loan deal with Serbian SuperLiga club Vojvodina.

With the club, he reached the final of the 2024-25 Serbian Cup, which was lost against Red Star Belgrade. He also signed for Polish Ekstraklasa club Radomiak Radom on a three-year deal, for an undisclosed fee in 2025.

Okello joined Yanga from Vipers SC

This is the fourth signing announced by Yanga in this current transfer window after Emanuel Mwanengo from TRA United, Damaro Camara from Singida Black Stars and Allan Okello from Vipers in Uganda.

Okello left the Uganda Premier League (SUPL) champions as a domestic double winner, having played a defining role in Vipers’ 2024-25 Uganda Premier League and Stanbic Uganda Cup triumphs—one of the most successful seasons in the club’s modern history.

On the continental stage, Okello represented Vipers with distinction in the 2025-26 CAF Champions League, helping the Venoms progress to the second preliminary round and carrying the club’s ambitions with composure, creativity and leadership.
