The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco has successfully rewritten history, becoming the highest-scoring edition of the tournament ever.
AFCON 2025 has recorded 120 goals so far, even before the third-place match and the final are played, making it the most prolific edition in the tournament’s history.
This tally surpasses the previous record of 119 goals, which was set during the last edition in Ivory Coast, reflecting the attacking approach adopted by African national teams.

Moroccan forward Brahim Díaz currently tops the tournament’s scoring chart with five goals, ahead of Egypt’s Mohamed Salah and Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen, who have each scored four goals.
However, with the third-place match and the final still to be played, the door remains open for even more goals to be added to the record.
