Libyan international and Tunisian side Club Africain defender Ali Youssef has arrived in France to complete his transfer to FC Nantes.
According to French newspaper L’Équipe, Ali Youssef is set to sign a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Ligue 1 side.
Nantes are looking to strengthen their defense with the 24-year-old centre-back, while the report added that the deal will cost Nantes around €500,000, to be paid to Club Africain.
Ali Youssef will become Nantes’ third signing of the current winter transfer window, following the arrivals of Rémy Cabella and Ibrahima Sissoko.
With the move, the Libyan defender will join several African players at Nantes, including Egyptian striker Mostafa Mohamed, Nigerian defender Chidozie Awaziem, Malian players Sékou Doucouré, Ibrahima Sissoko, and Amady Camara, Cameroonian forward Ignatius Ganago, and Moroccan striker Youssef El Arabi.
Youssef has 22 appearances with Libya national team so far
Nantes currently sit 16th in the Ligue 1 standings with 14 points after 17 matches played.
