The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially revealed the individual awards for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, following Senegal’s title victory over hosts Morocco.
The final ended goalless after 90 minutes, with Morocco missing a dramatic penalty through Brahim Díaz. Senegal went on to secure the trophy in extra time as Pape Gueye scored the decisive goal in the 94th minute, sealing the continental crown for the Teranga Lions.
After the final whistle, the tournament’s organizing committee announced the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 award winners, which were as follows:
Best Player of the Tournament: Sadio Mané (Senegal)
Top Scorer: Brahim Díaz (5 goals)
Best Goalkeeper: Yassine Bounou (Morocco)
Fair Play Award: Achraf Hakimi (Morocco)
Senegal lifted their second Africa Cup of Nations title, adding to their first triumph in the 2022 edition, which came at the expense of Egypt via penalty shootouts.
Meanwhile, Morocco’s wait for a second continental title continues, as their only Africa Cup of Nations triumph dates back 50 years to 1976. The Atlas Lions finished runners-up for the second time, having previously lost the 2004 final to Tunisia.
