Simba SC management has brought back former midfielder and Zambia international Clatous Chama to the team as part of a strategy to strengthen the midfield this season.
Chama, who was a key player for Simba for several seasons, is remembered for his significant contribution to local and international success, including reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
His experience, ability to create chances and score important goals are cited as the main reasons for Simba to bring him back.
According to Simba SC Media Officer Ahmed Ally, the Tanzania giants have seen two players depart during this transfer window. Midfielder Mzamiru Yassin has joined TRA United on loan, while Awesu Awesu has moved to Kenya Polisi, also on loan.
Ally further provided updates on their injury update. He said: “Moussa Camara, our goalkeeper, is recovering well from his injury and will soon begin his fitness training. He’s on track to make a return.
However, Ally confirmed that another goalkeeper, Yakoub Suleiman, will be out for an extended period due to injury.
“Yakoub will be sidelined for about a month. He has already completed phase one of his medical treatment and will soon begin phase two, which will take at least a month to complete.”
Simba will be going for their first win in Group D of the Champions League qualifier against ES Tunis on Saturday. The Msimbaxzi Reds have lost all their opening two fixtures.
