Kambole: Nkana FC media
Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Lazarous Kambole has earned a short-term contract renewal with Zambian side Nkana FC.
A statement from the record MTN Super League champions confirms the extension of the 32-year-old’s deal. It is a lifeline for the forward who flopped at Chiefs, scoring twice in 46 appearances. He joined Amakhosi in 2019.
Now, it appears Kambole is finding his feet again back home. This has seen his initial contract, that expired last December, extended to July 2026 “with an option to extend his stay at the club further.”
“The club believes the extension reflects confidence in Kambole’s professional contribution and his continued importance to Nkana FC’s sporting objectives as the season progresses,” reads the statement.
The former Zambian international was touted as the new Collins Mbesuma when he signed for Chiefs in 2019. However, he proved to be a spectacular flop. Mbesuma was a top scorer for the PSL side in the early 2000.
Meanwhile, Nkana FC have parted ways with striker Enock Sakala Jr.
Elsewhere in Zambia, ZANACO FC have signed Congolese striker Ange Sama Luzeka and local midfielder Collins Makungu.
Commenting on Luzeka, ZANACO FC described him as a dynamic finisher. He joined from Nchanga Rangers in the same domestic league of Zambia.
“At just 23, the Congolese forward is a clinical left-footed threat poised to ignite the Bankers’ frontline,”reads the statement.
“Handed the number 28 shirt, Luzeka is an attacker defined by his explosive pace and predatory instincts. Renowned for his ghosting movement, the ability to find space in crowded penalty areas, Luzeka brings a new dimension of aggression and flair. He is a natural finisher who thrives on turning half-chances into match-winning moments.”
The Lusaka-based side also welcomed the 27-year-old Makungu from Mufulira Wanderers, describing him as a technical player “widely recognized for his tactical discipline and commanding presence on the pitch.”
“Makungu brings a wealth of leadership to Sunset Stadium. A rare, ambidextrous specialist, he offers the team unrivalled composure and balance in transition,”adds the statement.
“‘Fans can expect a relentless ball-winner capable of dictating the tempo of the game and providing an impenetrable shield for the backline.”
