The 22-year-old winger has signed a contract with the Portuguese Primeira Liga champions until 2030, after the club met his €6.5 million release clause.

Faye took some time to speak to the club’s media on the sidelines of his unveiling on Wednesday.

“I accepted the offer because Sporting CP is a great club. Anyone who comes to Sporting CP has many goals to achieve. I will be able to grow and win many titles here,” he said.

“I see the Portuguese League as an opportunity. I want to show my worth. Happy to now represent the National Two-Time Champion, which means a lot. I really want to wear this shirt and also play in the UEFA Champions League. It’s a childhood dream for every player. I want to help achieve the team’s objectives and, in my case, grow a lot and win titles.”

Faye, who has been handed the number 15 shirt, started his career at Galaxy Football Academy in Dakar before Granada CF snapped him up in 2022. He then played for CF Talavera de la Reina and Real Betis Balompié before returning to Granada CF at the start of this season.

Faye gathered 21 appearances (19 in the Spanish second division and two in the Copa del Rey) with two goals during the 2025/2026 season.
