Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed a 22-man travelling squad as they head to Ndola to face ZESCO United in a crucial CAF Confederation Cup Group D encounter this Sunday.
The encounter will be staged at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on Match-Day 3 in Group D at 15:00 (CAT) with three points at stake.
Amakhosi enter this fixture following a 1-0 victory over Golden Arrows on Wednesday at FNB Stadium. The result propelled the Soweto giants to third in the Betway Premiership.
However, their continental campaign remains under pressure; after a loss to Al Masry and a draw with Zamalek, the Glamour Boys sit third in Group D with just one point. A positive result at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium is critical for their hopes of progressing to the quarter-finals.
The travelling squad features a blend of seasoned campaigners and rising talent. Notably, 21-year-old midfielder Thulani Mabaso is included in the travelling party just days after making his senior debut as a substitute against Golden Arrows. Defender Aden McCarthy, fresh from scoring his first senior goal in the midweek league win, also makes the trip.
This match marks the second time these two clubs have met in CAF competitions. Their previous encounter in the 2018/19 play-off round saw ZESCO United advance with a 5-2 aggregate victory. Chiefs will be looking to overturn their historical struggles against Zambian opposition, having failed to secure a win in their four previous meetings.
