The 26-year-old joins from 31-time Bolivian champions Club Bolívar for a reported transfer fee of €578,000. Vaca signed a three and a half year contract with The Red Castle, who have a club option to extend the contract for another season.

Through eight rounds in Morocco’s top flight Botola Pro, WAC are the leaders with two points separating them from second place AS FAR Rabat.

They enjoyed a strong start to the 2025-26 campaign under coach Mohamed Benhachem, also thriving in continental competition by qualifying for the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup. Wydad won their opening two matches in Group B, defeating Nairobi United of Kenya and Tanzania’s Azam FC to leave themselves as group leaders through two rounds.

The Casablanca giants are hoping that their new signing can provide a boost of creativity to the attack. Most comfortable operating as a central attacking midfielder, the Bolivian will compete with the likes of Thembinkosi Lorch, Nordin Amrabat and Stephane Aziz Ki for playing time. Veteran French attacker Wissam Ben Yedder is also another significant signing who is expected to add quality.

Vaca arrives after a highly decorated career in Bolivian club football. Beginning his professional career at The Strongest in the city of La Paz, he spent a season and a half in European club football with Belgian club Beerschot in the Jupiler Pro League before returning to Bolivia with The Strongest’s rivals Bolívar.

He produced 27 goals and 36 assists in 107 appearances across all competitions for Bolívar. Vaca is also an important member of the Bolivia national team with 5 goals and 2 assists in 44 appearances for La Verde, featuring regularly during his nation’s 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign with 2 goals and 1 assist in 9 matches.

WAC will soon return to action after an extended break for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. They will host Congolese side AS Maniema Union on Sunday, where they will hope to maintain their perfect record in the Confederation Cup.
