League leaders, Medeama will look to stretch their lead when they host Karela United in week 20 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday at the Tarkwa TnA Park.
The Mauve and Yellow have gone sixteen games without a loss and head coach of the club, Ibrahim Tanko spent some time to discuss the importance of the game.
“Definitely we are playing at home and we also want to keep our three points [and] we hope that the boys will give us a good result,” Ibrahim Tanko told MEDi TV.
Ibrahim Tanko is spoilt for choice with the array of talents and the former Ghana international admits to selection headache.
“They [players] all know it’s all about performance [and] any of them who plays is doing well so definitely it’s giving us headache as a technical team but think it’s very good for the team so we hope that they will be competitive like that every week so that we will have the best team.”
Medeama currently lead the Ghana Premier League table with 40 points, seven points away from second placed and reigning champions GoldStars after 19 games into the season.
Record Ghana Premier League holders, Asante Kotoko are home to an in-form Holy Stars in a game Kotoko coach Karim Zito is attaching much seriousness to.
“Positive mentality because we need to win this game seriously. We have to take this game seriously, both the technical team and the players themselves, positive attitude and win at all costs,” Karim Zito told Kotoko TV.
“You have to make your intentions known and work towards that and that is what we are working towards and I still hold it because it’s not too late as I said it’s a marathon race.
“Some can start well and then there will be a time the point’s gap will reach a certain stage then you can give up but me I don’t give up until it ends so we are still fighting for it and football is about moments. There will be a moment when the white will be shining on you and there will be a moment when the black will be shining on you.
Asante Kotoko currently sit fourth on the league table with 32 points same as Hearts of Oak and Aduana FC heading into the week 20 fixtures at weekend.
