Ghana striker Caleb Ekuban scores in Genoa’s comeback win

Ghana striker, Caleb Ekuban registered his second goal of the season as Genoa fought from two goals down to beat Genoa 3-2 in the Serie A on Sunday.

It was Bologna who shot ahead when Benjamin Dominguez swiveled around Genoa’s half before setting up Lewis Ferguson to blast the opener in the 35th minute for the visitors.

The solitary strike separated the two sides into the half time break at the Luigi Ferraris.

Bologna mounted incessant pressure on the home side which resulted into Sebastian Otoa pushing Jens Odgaard’s effort into his own net two minutes into the second half.

Bologna were however dealt a huge blow when goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski was red-carded after fouling Vitinha outside his area.

Genoa took advantage of the resultant free kick to immediately pull a goal back with a sumptuous free kick from Ruslan Malinovskyi in the 62nd minute.

Ghana striker Caleb Ekuban was introduced in the second half and quickly made his presence felt with a swift strike in the penalty area to peg the game at 2-2 in the 78th minute.

With the game looking like ending in a 2-2 draw, Junior Messias pulls a magical moment with a solo effort down the left, cutting in quickly before scooping the winner in added time.

The 3-2 victory propelled Genoa into 13th on 23 points from 22 matches with Bologna sitting 8th with 30 points.

Caleb Ekuban has now scored two goals from 17 games for Bologna this campaign.
