Tunisian coach Nabil El Kouki, head coach of Al Masry, stressed the difficulty of his team’s match against Zamalek in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The encounter between Zamalek and Al Masry ended in a goalless draw in the third round of the group stage of the African competition.
Speaking during the post-match press conference, El Kouki said, according to Yallakora:
“The match was extremely difficult on both the technical and tactical levels, and I believe it was a high-quality game for both teams.”
He added:
“Our main objective is to qualify for the next round and successfully get through the group stage. We had several chances during the match against Zamalek and we were capable of scoring, but luck was not on our side, in addition to a lack of concentration from our players at certain moments.”
El Kouki concluded by saying:
“We are taking this African campaign step by step. Zamalek are certainly one of the biggest clubs on the African continent, but it is important to emphasize that the draw is a satisfactory result for us. What matters most is that we are still top of the group, although we were hoping to achieve even more.”
