Veteran attacker Jim Allevinah joined the large contingent of African internationals in the Turkish Süper Lig on Thursday after the Gabon national team attacker completed a loan transfer to Kasımpaşa.

It is a temporary move for the 30-year-old, who joins for the remainder of the 2025-26 season without an option for Kasımpaşa to purchase on a permanent basis. Allevinah arrives from French Ligue 1 side Angers SCO after injury limited him to six appearances and one goal during the first half of the campaign.
The former Clermont Foot star showed signs of regaining his form after returning from 2025 Africa Cup of Nations duty with Gabon, where he made one substitute appearance. After the Panthers were unceremoniously eliminated at the group stage in Morocco, he came off the bench to score for Angers in a 2-5 defeat to Marseille before featuring again as a substitute on January 25 in a 0-0 draw with Paris FC.

However, in the end the midtable Ligue 1 club elected to send Allevinah on loan, where he will likely have more opportunities for playing time in Türkiye. Kasımpaşa are engaged in a relegation battle, sitting 15th on the 18-team Süper Lig table just over the halfway point of the season. They are one point clear of the drop zone.
His new club have only won two matches over the last four months, even crashing out of the Turkish Cup at the hands of amateur club Kahta 02 Spor in late October during this stretch. Kasımpaşa rank among the worst attacks in the top flight, with only 15 goals from 19 matches. Their next match will be tomorrow (Friday) at home against Samsunspor.
Allevinah offers a good solution to the club’s scoring difficulties. A tricky winger who can operate on either flank, he is capable of both finishing and creating goal opportunities.
The French-born Gabonese international is an inspiring story. After beginning his career in the eighth division of French football, Allevinah rose up the pyramid before making his breakthrough after signing with Ligue 2 club Clermont ahead of the 2018-19 season to make his professional debut at the age of 24. He scored 12 goals in 39 appearances during the 2020-21 season to help Clermont earn promotion to Ligue 1.

Since making his debut with Gabon in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Burundi while still in the semi-professional ranks of French football, he has 8 goals and 2 assists with the Panthers. His best moments in the shirt of the national team came at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, where he scored 2 goals from 4 matches as Gabon reached the Round of 16.
