Gor Mahia have plan to approach Sofapaka game – says Kobi

Kenyan Premier League outfit Gor Mahia assistant coach Bismark Kobi has revealed their readiness to face Sofapaka in an FKF Premier League fixture at Nyayo Stadium on Saturday.

The former league champions will head into the fixture bubbling with confidence following their comeback 2-1 win against bogey side Bidco United while Sofapaka lost their last assignment 1-0 against AFC Leopards.

Speaking ahead of the fixture, the Ghanaian assistant coach discussed what to expect from the must-win match.

Gor Mahia will be serious about it

“We watched their game against Leopards and they are a good team,” he told Gor Mahia website. “From what we saw, we already have a plan on how to approach the match.

“We can’t reveal much, but we will be serious about it. They are a strong side, and we will need to play above ourselves if we are to beat them.”

Kobi added: “From our last game, the players did well, but there are some technical areas we need to improve, and we have already started working on those.

“We gave the players two days off, and today we began preparations for Saturday. We are adding more seriousness to our training, and we will be ready.”

While Gor Mahia are currently sitting top of the 18-team Premier League table with 36 points from 17 matches, Sofapaka are languishing one place from the bottom with 14 points from 18 outings.

K’Ogalo have won 11 matches, drawn three and lost three while Batot oba Mungu have won three matches, drawn five, and suffered 10 defeats.
