Botswana: Black Lions don’t fear Galaxy – Zivojinov

Black Lions FC coach Srdjan Zivojinov says his team will respect but not fear Jwaneng Galaxy when they clash in a Botswana league match on Saturday.

The blockbuster, which will highlight the FNB Premiership’s second round kick off, will take place at Jwaneng Stadium. Kick-Off is 7pm Southern African Time.

Speaking ahead of the match, the Serbian mentor said his charges are putting in a lot of work in training aware of the big challenge that Galaxy will pose to them.

“I have very hard work with this team to change many things, but this is a good challenge. Without the challenge, I wouldn’t be here.

the challenge I am prepared. It is a tough game but Galaxy is a very strong team. It is trying to get the title this season but ok football is like that.”

The former Township Rollers added that he wants his team to face Galaxy without giving them too much respect.

“We are not afraid of Galaxy we will. We will try to play a nice football game. I promise you will watch a nice game and we are going to play there. and don’t respect Galaxy too much. We will play a nice game and fight for three points,” he said.

The rookies occupy 10th place with 16 points from 13 games in the 16-member log table. Jwaneng Galaxy sit in second place, four points behind leaders and holders Gaborone United.

Another match to look out for

Meanwhile, Mochudi Centre Chiefs take on Calendar Stars at Gaborone United Stadium on Friday. Kick-off is 7pm Southern African Time.

Ahead of the game, Centre Chiefs coach Miguel Corral Torreria has since shared insights on his team’s preparedness for the task at hand.

“After 12 days, we will play again,” the coach said. “This week has been very positive for us because we are improving a lot. The players are improving a lot. They are pushing in every training session.”

“We have to be prepared for Calendar Stars. They are going to be very difficult rivals. We are focused, we are ready for sure. We need our fans in the stadium. For us, they are the most important people for us because they push us. We need their energy and passion,” he added.

Centre Chiefs are in third place in the standings, 11 points behind leaders Gaborone United after playing 14 games, one more than the leaders. Calendar Stars sit second from the bottom hence fighting for survival.
