Head coach of Medeama SC Ibrahim Tanko has admitted the club bowed to incessant pressure during their 2-1 loss against Nations FC in week 21 of the Ghana Premier League on Friday.
The Mauve and Yellow travelled to the Dr. Kyei Complex with an eight points lead but Nations FC fought back from Kingsley Braye’s opener to win 2-1 courtesy Razak Simpson’s brace.

Medeama’s defeat ended a seventeen game unbeaten run and coach Ibrahim Tanko analyzed what caused their second loss of the season
“I think after the first goal we allowed them to take the second balls, all the fifty-fifty balls. The pressure was too high. I don’t know why but I mean this is a game. Anyhow you are going to lose a game,” Ibrahim Tanko said.
“We created the chances [and] we should have scored one of them and we didn’t play badly but we lost 2-1 and we are definitely going to prepare for our next game definitely.”
Head coach of Nations FC, Stephen Frimpong Manso expressed joy over the victory, stressing that they needed the win to rejuvenate their fans.
“You can see the atmosphere around the stadium, I think we needed these points and we worked very hard for it, it’s not something that came by chance, we worked very hard for it.
Medeama still lead the premier league table on 43 points with Nations FC climbing into 8th on the league with 27 points same as Heart of Lions pending the remaining games on Saturday and Sunday.
