Emmanuel Boateng agrees to join Hapoel Tel Aviv FC

Ghana striker Emmanuel Boateng has agreed to sign a deal to join Israeli powerhouse Hapoel Tel Aviv FC.

The 29-year-old prior to agreeing the move to Israel last played for Turkish side Gaziantep FK where he played 11 matches and scored one goal. The former Rio Ave forward is expected to sign a season-and-a-half year deal which is subject to medical tests.

A statement of Emmnauel Boateng’s move was announced by the club on their social media platforms.

“The Ghanaian striker Emmanuel Boateng concluded in Hapoel, will land in Israel in the next day and sign a contract for a season and a half, subject to medical tests.

“Boateng (29), who played for Spanish Levante and the Portuguese Rio Ave, comes to us from Gaziantep from the Turkish league.Shabbat Shalom Hapoel, Bloomfield is full tomorrow!” the statement read.

Boateng who rose through Ghana’s U-17 and the U-20 ranks, cut his teeth with juvenile club, De Gunners FC before transferring to Charity Stars where his talent was perfectly honed. He made a successful move to Portuguese club Rio Ave after his blistering performance for Ghana youth teams before a spell at Moreirense.

He is remembered for scoring a hat-trick against Barcelona while playing for Levante, becoming the first Ghanaian and African player to chalk that feat in 2018 when Levante ended the Catalonians unbeaten run by 5-4 score line.

Boateng previously played in Saudi Arabia for Al Orobah, Dalian Yifang in the Chinese Super League. He is capped seven times by the senior national men’s team of Ghana with one goal to his credit.
