It was a cagey start to the encounter with Hearts looking to close the gap on leaders Medeama to five points.
Emmanuel Sefah came close to putting Bechem ahead but his overhead kick missed the crossbar by a whisker in the 14th minute. Moments later Hamza Issah threatened Bechem United’s area with his effort however going wide.
Hearts pinned the Hunters into their own end for the majority of the first half yet they failed to convert their dominance into scoring chances. Emmanuel Amankwa was presented with an opportunity to shoot the Phobians into the lead after the cooling break but he skied his effort to close the first half.
The opening fifteen minutes of the second half produced a ding-dong affair with both clubs testing each other with quick breaks.
Hearts of Oak move level on 36 points with Aduana and reigning champions GoldStars after 21 matches.
Bechem United stay in 11th on the log with 26 points same as Dreams fc, Holy Stars and Young Apostles.
