Moatamed Gamal, head coach of Zamalek, expressed his satisfaction following his team’s important 2-1 victory over Al Masry in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Speaking during the post-match press conference, Gamal said:
“The win is very important for us. Both teams know each other very well and are like open books. I would like to thank Nabil El Kouki, the head coach of Al Masry, as his team delivered a very strong performance today.”

He added:
“We divided the match into several phases and succeeded in achieving our main objective, which was winning the game and moving to the top of the group.”

Gamal also highlighted the impact of Zamalek’s supporters, stating:
“Zamalek fans always stand behind the team. Without them, we lose 90 percent of our strength. This is the nature of Zamalek’s loyal supporters who continuously back the team.”

Praising Adam Kaied’s individual performance, the Zamalek coach said:
“Adam Kaied delivered an excellent performance, and I really hoped he would score today. He is giving everything he has and working very hard for the team.”

He continued:
“Every match has its own requirements. We choose the lineup and tactical approach based on the opponent, and all players will get their chance in the upcoming matches.”

Gamal also spoke highly of Mohamed Ismail, saying:
“He is a distinguished player, and any coach would wish to have him in the squad. He can play in more than one position and always performs well.”

Commenting on the match, he added:
“We achieved our objective from the game. I am not sure whether the penalty awarded against us was correct or not, and I hoped we could have ended the first half with a one-goal lead.”

Regarding fitness conditions, Gamal explained:
“Nabil Emad ‘Donga’ and Abdallah El Said are not at full fitness, but their presence is very important for the team. Many players were suffering from colds, yet they pushed themselves despite injuries and the numerical disadvantage.”

He concluded:
“Chico Banza earned the penalty, and in football, players can make mistakes or succeed. The coming period will be better. We will work more with our attacking players, and once Bezzera and Chico score their first goals, things will improve significantly.”

Zamalek defeated Al Masry 2-1 at Suez Stadium in the fourth round of the group stage, raising their tally to 8 points and moving to the top of their CAF Confederation Cup group.
