German Bundesliga club Hamburger SV has completed the loan signing of Nigerian winger Philip Otele from Swiss side FC Basel.
The move sees Otele join the German outfit on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.

Hamburg paid a €1.5 million loan fee and will pay a further €4.5 million if they choose to make the deal permanent.
The 26-year-old leaves FC Basel, where he recorded 18 goals and eight assists in 53 competitive matches. His departure comes just a year after his arrival from UAE club Al-Wahda.

Otele, who will wear the number 27 jersey at his new club, was recently named in Nigeria’s provisional squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Hamburger SV currently sits 13th in the Bundesliga standings, having secured 29 points so far this season.
