Ugandan striker Uche Ikpeazu wasted no time making his mark at Ross County, scoring the decisive goal on his debut as the Staggies edged Queen’s Park 1-0 in Tuesday’s Scottish Championship clash at Dingwall.
Signed late in the transfer window from St Johnstone, Ikpeazu was immediately thrust into action by manager Stuart Kettlewell.
The powerful forward showed no signs of nerves, bulldozing through Queen’s Park’s defense to find the net and secure a crucial victory for his new club.

The goal underlined why Ross County moved quickly to recruit the striker, who arrives to fill the void left by Ronan Hale’s departure to Gillingham.
With prior Scottish experience at Hearts and St Johnstone, alongside stints in England with Middlesbrough and Cardiff City, Ikpeazu brought a combination of physicality, experience, and finishing ability that County desperately needed.
The result had immediate consequences in the league standings. Ross County climbed out of the relegation zone, moving from 10th to eighth place with 15 points from 16 games, relieving some pressure after their defeat to Morton last weekend.
Queen’s Park, meanwhile, dropped to ninth on 13 points, intensifying their fight for survival.
Kettlewell had previously praised Ikpeazu’s hunger, attitude, and presence during his arrival, and the striker repaid that faith perfectly, delivering a match-winning performance on his very first night in the Staggies jersey.
