Uganda Cranes winger Hakim Kiwanuka delivered a statement performance to inspire APR FC to a commanding 3–0 win over Gasogi United on Wednesday at Kigali Pele Stadium, setting the tone early and anchoring a dominant display in the Rwanda Premier League.
Kiwanuka wasted no time, scoring inside the opening quarter-hour with a crisp finish that settled APR nerves and tilted the contest firmly in their favour.
His early strike opened the floodgates, allowing the visitors to control the rhythm and territory for long spells.

APR doubled their advantage before the break through Memel Dao, capitalising on sustained pressure to head into halftime with a healthy cushion. Gasogi’s hopes of a response were further dented when Youssif Daudda was sent off shortly after the restart, leaving the hosts with a mountain to climb.
The result was put beyond doubt late on when Djibril Ouattara calmly converted from the penalty spot, sealing a comprehensive victory for the Army side.
Kiwanuka’s all-action showing combining direct running, sharp movement and end product earned him the Man of the Match accolade, along with a 100,000 Rwf cash award.
The performance underlined his rich vein of form, coming hot on the heels of his decisive goal in the Heroes Cup semi-final against AS Kigali.
The win lifts APR FC to the summit of the table with 36 points after 18 games, edging ahead of a tightly packed chasing pack that includes Al Hilal, Police FC and El Merreick.
With momentum building and Kiwanuka firing, APR look primed to sustain their title push.
