Tolu Arokodare prioritizes team success to help struggling Wolves

Tolu Arokodare says he is focused on being a team player in order to help a struggling Wolverhampton Wanderers achieve their goals for the 2025-26 season.

The Nigerian forward made these remarks after his side fell to a 3-1 home defeat against Chelsea on Saturday. Arokodare tried to pull one back for Wolves in the 54th minute, but his strike served only as a consolation. It was his second league goal of the campaign since moving to Molineux.

The 25-year-old, as quoted by the club’s official website, emphasized his commitment to the collective over individual glory.

“Now I’m not really thinking about myself. I’m thinking more about the team, because if the team is doing great, then I’ll be doing great too.

The individual performances, they come second, the team comes first. Obviously, it’s not easy, but I just have to stay focused, help my teammates and they help me, and together we will all achieve what we want, and that’s getting three points.”

Arokodare, who joined Wolves from Belgian Pro League outfit Genk, initially found it difficult to hit the ground running in England. However, he has now grown into the primary figure leading the charge for Rob Edwards’ side as they fight to climb away from the bottom of the table.
