Patson Daka and Abdul Fatawu got on the scoresheet Tuesday but struggling Leicester City somehow managed to blow a three-goal lead and lose 3-4 to Southampton in the EFL Championship.
Ghana national team attacker Fatawu has a flair for the spectacular and the 21-year-old lived up to expectations with a smashing effort into the roof of the net to complete a series of three goals in the opening half hour from the hosts.
Zambia national team talisman Daka, who continues to struggle with poor form, gave his 2025-26 season a needed boost with a goal and an assist in the opening fifteen minutes. Assisting Divine Mukasa for the opening goal in the 10th minute, a couple minutes later the Zambian added his fourth goal in all competitions this season.

However Leicester’s awful start to 2026 continued with a fitting second half collapse. Ross Stewart, Jack Stephens and Ryan Manning each scored in the final half hour for visitors Southampton before Shea Charles produced the magical winner deep into second half stoppage time.
Already dropped down towards the relegation zone due to a six-point penalty imposed by the EFL for breaching its Profit and Sustainability Rules, the Foxes are in the midst of a serious crisis on the pitch as well. They have now failed to win in their last six matches, collecting only two points during this stretch.
Fatawu is one of the few bright spots in an underperforming team with 8 goals and 7 assists in 32 league matches. The two teams will meet again in four days time in the FA Cup.
