NPFL: Wikki Tourists confirm resignation of Abdu Maikaba

Wikki Tourists Football Club have confirmed the immediate resignation of technical sdviser Abdu Maikaba Fagge from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) club on Monday.

Maikaba submitted his resignation to the Chairman of Wikki Tourists following a dramatic 4-4 draw against neighbors Katsina United in an NPFL Matchday 25 encounter in Bauchi.

In his letter, Maikaba cited internal disunity and concerns over his personal safety, which he said made it increasingly difficult for the team to achieve its objectives.

The club confirmed the exit of their gaffer via their social media handles on Tuesday, wishing Maikaba the best in his future endeavors while assuring fans that the team remains focused on its mission.

“The Club has officially received and acknowledged the resignation of the Technical Adviser, Mr. Abdu Maikaba Fagge.

The Management appreciates his service and contributions to the Club during his time with Wikki Tourists FC and wishes him success in his future endeavors.

The Club remains focused on its objectives and assures fans and stakeholders that necessary steps are being taken to ensure continuity, stability, and progress within the team. Further updates regarding the technical department will be communicated in due course.”

The experienced tactician also revealed that he had received several threats to his life while carrying out his duties, both through physical confrontations and on social media. He stated that these threats prompted his decision to resign after consulting with his family.

Maikaba is widely regarded as one of the most experienced coaches in Nigerian football, having managed several top-flight clubs throughout his distinguished career.
