Zamalek SC have officially addressed the Egyptian Football Association (EFA), requesting the postponement of their upcoming match against Ceramica Cleopatra in the Egypt Cup.
Zamalek are scheduled to face Ceramica Cleopatra on Tuesday, February 17, in the Round of 16 of the Egypt Cup.
In an official letter sent to the EFA, the white castle stressed the importance of ensuring fairness and equal opportunity, citing what the club described as a clear lack of competitive balance. The White Knights pointed out that they are set to play six matches within a 15-day period, while Ceramica Cleopatra will enjoy a 12-day rest ahead of the tie.
Zamalek also highlighted concerns over player welfare, noting that the match is scheduled to be played at 2:30 PM, which could negatively impact the players’ physical condition. The club further expressed its objection to the decision to stage the match behind closed doors, without the presence of Zamalek supporters.
In their statement, the white castle reiterated their firm demand to reschedule the match to a later date, while confirming that the club will retain all its legal and sporting rights regarding the matter.
