Serhou Guirassy continued his revival in form on Friday with two goals in a dominant 4-0 Bundesliga victory for Borussia Dortmund over Mainz.
The Guinean has now scored five goals in his last three matches after leading his team to their fifth consecutive league victory. Unlike the last two wins, this time around there was no drama or late goals needed for the 2023-24 UEFA Champions League finalists.
Guirassy got right to business inside ten minutes when he rose highest in the penalty area to nod in a free kick service from Julian Ryerson’s delivery. Ryerson then provided the second in a hat-trick of assists to Maximilian Beier, who doubled the advantage before a quarter-hour was gone.
Another deadly set piece delivery from Ryerson set up Guirassy for his second goal before halftime, when the striker rose up again to nod in from close range following a corner kick.
The second goal saw the Guinean reach a career total of 75 goals in Germany’s top flight, accumulated during time spent with FC Köln and Stuttgart as well as his current club.

A late own goal finished off the scoring in a dominant display for Die Schwarzgelben, who remain hot in pursuit within three points of league leaders Bayern Munich.
Guirassy now has 11 goals and 1 assist in league play, with an additional four goals from cup and UEFA Champions League play as well. Next up is a UEFA Champions League Round of 32 first leg clash at home against Atalanta.
