Galatasaray coach applauds Osimhen, Icardi partnership

Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk has expressed satisfaction with the partnership of Victor Osimhen and Mauro Icardi following the club’s impressive home win over Eyüpspor.

​The duo combined to lead the “Yellow-Reds” in hammering Eyüpspor 5-1 at RAMS Park on Friday.

Osimhen provided a brace of assists in the game, Icardi netted a hat-trick.

Buruk praise attacking duo

​Speaking via the club’s website, Buruk lauded the forwards’ performances and their overall contribution to the game.

“Despite all the changes, everyone who came in was eager. Icardi’s 3 goals, Osimhen’s 2 assists… There are many positive things.

“We played with two strikers. We used it in the Kocaelispor match, and people thought Osimhen and Icardi couldn’t play together. We tried it and got positive results.”

Galatasaray are now unbeaten in their last 10 league games, leaving them at the top of the Turkish Süper Lig standings with 55 points from 22 matches.

The reigning Süper Lig champions will now shift their attention to next Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League playoff against Juventus.
